Bud Butler Memorial Equestrian Park

The West Bench neighbourhood is fortunate to have a newly upgraded public riding ring located at the top of Selby Park. All riders are welcome to use the facility.
Location:
Selby Park, West Bench Drive, a short distance north of West Bench Elementary School (see map)
Amenities:
- 22m x 72m ring, fully fenced, with new footing
- Automatic watering for dust control
- Round pen for warm-up and to lunge horses
- Storage house for jump standards and poles
- Viewing area, with room to set up lawn chairs
- Dedicated horse path from West Bench Dr. to the riding ring.
Ring Etiquette:
- All riders welcome
- Please replace equipment leave facilities clean after use
- Use round pen to lunge horses
- If the round pen is very dusty, set up the sprinkler for a few minutes prior to use
- Riders must share this ring. If a lesson is being given, some space must be left for other riders.
- If a clinic or horseshow which requires the full use of the ring has booked the ring, notification will be posted at the ring.
- Barrel racing/pole bending/sliding stops are not permitted due to hazard of rock crush base and light sand footing
- This is a public facility maintained by volunteers.
