I have had a number of questions from residents about the level of uranium in the well given the magnitude of the 2011 refresh. The following is from Rob Palmer, the RDOS environmental technician:
A sample of the Faulder well water was drawn on June 27, 2011 for a complete chemical analysis. The result for uranium was 0.0211 mg/L. As observed in the attached graph this is slightly lower than previous years, however it is still marginally over the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality Maximum Allowable Concentration (MAC) of 0.02 mg/L. No other parameters tested displayed any significant changes in concentrations or levels.
